Williams along with the Renault F1 team chose to launch their car at the start of testing in the
Algarve today (19th Jan 2009).
In full wet conditions Williams got the car out on track to start the series of tests they have
planned ahead of the season opener in Australia in March. They were focussing on checking that
all systems were working explained technical director Sam Michael. Set-up and performance work will be looked at later in the week.
German test driver Nico Hulkenberg was pleased with the performance of the new car although being a newbiw to the Algarve Motor Park as well as driving in wet conditions he found it difficult to compare to the 2008 car.
